Mount Toubkal: what to know before you go
Mount Toubkal (Jebel Toubkal) is the highest point in North Africa at 4,167 m. The standard ascent from Imlil takes 2–3 days, climbing through Amazigh villages to the Neltner Refuge at 3,207 m, then a steep scree push to the summit. No technical climbing is required in summer, but the altitude, terrain, and weather demand respect. In winter, the mountain requires mountaineering skills and equipment.
